customized, small group reading instruction

We're experienced, certified early childhood literacy specialists.

We understand how important the first years of your child's literacy  development are.  We preach the research. Children who develop strong  reading and writing skills early in their academic career achieve  greater academic success than those who do not.

We founded Rye Reads™ and The Rye Book Club for Kids!™  in  response to the many local parents searching for an academic program that would strengthen their children's reading  and writing skills in a unique, fun and interactive way. Our rigorous  programs assess and adjust instructional delivery based on each child's  unique strengths and challenges.  We design custom learning activities  and materials every day.  Our ever expanding library of resources has  already helped early many readers become more confident readers while  developing an appreciation of the written word.

Every reader has unique needs!

Book Club members become better readers and to want to read more.  In each session, we share a group read aloud from a beloved children’s authors.  Then each student is given a customized activity to support either decoding, fluency or comprehension.   We build writing skills. We incorporate technology and always make time for readers to select a book to read, read silently or share with a partner.

Convenient, fun and affordable!

Unless otherwise noted, we meet in a private family home environment right here in Rye.  We support the Rye School District curriculum for reading and Rye School District students are given priority registration.  Every student receives a t-shirt and a reading response journal.

Here's What Parents Have To Say

Yvette G., Milton School

"Shelby loves Rye Reads!! I like the attention to detail, small group instruction, targeted goals, and inviting space. We did some of the other tutoring centers- but they basically had kids working in workbooks the whole time. I like the structure and format at Rye Reads."

Teresa A., Osborn School

"Love the fun, no pressure learning.  My son looks forward to every meeting and walks away with reals strategies he can use in class. "

Laura P., Osborn School

"The sense of community among all the students is refreshing.  It creates a safe learning environment where kids celebrate  their success."

Clare, Osborn School

"My daughter had another awesome time this afternoon. Thanks again for all that you do!  She is really enjoying reading, something I thought would never happen.

Anna T, Rye Resident

"Where was this program when my kids were in school?  This is exactly what our community needs to support our school's educators!"
